Ganja Recovered at Khangral; Accused Arrested
Kargil, 25 April 2026: Continuing its sustained drive against drug peddling and narcotics trafficking in the district, the District Police Kargil achieved another success during routine naka checking at Khangral.
Acting vigilantly during naka duty at around 9:45 PM, officials of Police Post Khangral intercepted a Tata TT vehicle bearing registration number JK12C-9060. During the search operation, approximately 1.18 kilograms of Ganja was recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Rajkumar Das, a resident of Jharkhand.
Following the recovery, the accused was immediately taken into custody and a formal FIR has been registered at District Police Kargil Police Station Wakha under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway to ascertain possible links and involvement in illegal narcotics trade.
The efforts and professionalism displayed by Police Post Khangral under the supervision of IC ASI Mohd Hussain have been widely appreciated for their prompt action in curbing drug-related activities in the region.
District Police Kargil reiterates its firm commitment towards eliminating the menace of narcotics from society and warns that strict legal action will continue against individuals involved in drug trafficking and substance abuse.
The general public is also urged to cooperate with the police by sharing any information related to illegal narcotics activities or suspicious movements in their areas.
