Fuel Prices Hiked Across India Amid West Asia Conflict Concerns
New Delhi, May 15, 2026:Amid growing pressure on fuel supplies due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia and rising concerns over under-recoveries faced by oil-marketing companies, petrol and diesel prices have been increased by ₹3 per litre across all variants on Friday morning.
The latest revision applies not only to regular petrol and diesel but also to premium and high-octane fuel products. Following the hike, the price of regular petrol in Delhi has risen to ₹97.77 per litre from the earlier ₹94.77, while diesel now costs ₹90.67 per litre compared to the previous ₹87.67 per litre.Additionally, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices in Delhi have also been increased by ₹2 per kg. The revised CNG price now stands at ₹79.09 per kg.
The premium petrol variant, IndianOil’s XG, has also witnessed a significant rise in price. It is now being sold at ₹95.99 per litre in Delhi, up from ₹92.99 per litre before the hike.The increase in fuel prices is expected to impact transportation costs and may further add pressure on household expenses and inflation in the coming weeks.Authorities and oil companies continue to monitor the global energy market situation closely amid uncertainty in international crude oil supplies.
