 GDC Zanskar Holds Prize Distribution Ceremony for Essay Writing Competition

Zanskar, May 23: Government Degree College Zanskar today organized a certificate and prize distribution ceremony for the participants of an Essay Writing Competition held recently under the supervision of Principal Dr. Amjad Ali Abbasi.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from around 50 students representing various institutions across the Zanskar valley, including Lamdon Model High School, Duzin Photang High School, Government High School Tungri, Government High School Karsha, Government Higher Secondary School Phey, and Government Higher Secondary School Padum.

Certificates of participation were distributed among all the students, while cash prizes along with certificates were awarded to the winners. Tsewang Namgyal of Government Higher Secondary School Padum secured the first position. Stanzin Skitzom of Lamdon Model High School stood second, while the third position was jointly secured by Stanzin Chuskit of Government High School Tungri and Padma Yongzom of Government Higher Secondary School Phey.

The ceremony was graced by the Deputy Commissioner of District Zanskar, Shri Gundai, who appreciated the efforts of the college in promoting literary and intellectual activities among students.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Shri Omkar Rajendra Gondage, IAS, and Principal Dr. Amjad Ali Abbasi congratulated the participants and emphasized the importance of such platforms in nurturing creativity, confidence, and critical thinking among students.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of participating schools, faculty members, organizers, and students.
