Supreme Court Issues Notice to Centre & NTA Over NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Pleas

The Supreme Court has issued notices to the Central Government and the National Testing Agency (NTA) seeking responses on a batch of petitions concerning the alleged paper leak in the NEET-UG 2026 examination. Among the petitions is one filed by the United Doctors Front (UDF), demanding the dissolution of the NTA and the conduct of a fresh NEET-UG examination under the supervision of a monitoring panel headed by a former Supreme Court judge.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court verbally observed that the NTA “has not learned its lesson” despite previous interventions by the Court on examination-related irregularities. A bench headed by Justice PS Narasimha also directed the NTA to submit an affidavit detailing the status and functioning of the Monitoring Committee constituted earlier following the Court’s directions.

Further, the Court directed the appointment of K. Radhakrishnan as the Chairman of the Monitoring Committee to ensure compliance with the Supreme Court’s directives.“We also direct K. Radhakrishnan to be appointed as the Chairman of the monitoring committee, indicating compliance with the Court directions. List this matter on Thursday,” the Court stated. The developments have once again raised serious concerns regarding transparency, accountability, and the integrity of national-level competitive examinations in the country.Source: ANI
