Leh, June 20, 2026: The Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, has informed that the luggage and baggage of Haj pilgrims from Ladakh, which arrived from Saudi Arabia and was subsequently transported from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, successfully reached Srinagar Haj House on the morning of June 20, 2026.

It is pertinent to mention that Haj pilgrims from Ladakh had arrived at Srinagar International Airport on June 14 and 15, 2026, without their luggage due to technical and logistical issues in baggage transportation. Since then, the Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, remained in constant coordination with the concerned authorities and airline representatives to facilitate the safe and timely arrival of the pilgrims’ belongings.

Upon arrival at Srinagar Haj House, the luggage was received by members of the Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, along with officials and staff of the Haj Office. The baggage was verified and checked by airline representatives before being formally handed over to the Haj Office for further distribution.

Pilgrims presently residing in Srinagar visited the Haj Office and collected their luggage directly from the Haj Committee staff.

The remaining luggage meant for pilgrims from Kargil and Leh districts will be dispatched from Srinagar on the morning of June 21, 2026. Haj Office staff will accompany the consignment during transit to ensure its safe transportation and proper distribution.

As per the schedule, the luggage will first reach Drass, where baggage belonging to pilgrims from the area will be handed over to the respective beneficiaries. Thereafter, the consignment will proceed to Kargil, where arrangements have been made for distribution at a designated location under the supervision of Haj Office officials.

Following the completion of distribution in Kargil, the remaining luggage will be transported to Leh. Upon arrival, the baggage will be kept at a designated collection point, and pilgrims from Leh district will be informed accordingly to collect their luggage.

The Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, has expressed gratitude to all Haj pilgrims for their patience and understanding during the delay and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of all remaining luggage to the concerned pilgrims.
