Training on Five Domains of Child Development under NEP 2020 Concludes at DIET Leh
Leh, March 7: A two-day training on the five domains of child development under Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), as envisaged in NEP 2020, concluded today on March 07, 2026 at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh. The programme was organized in collaboration with DIET Leh and Zamba Charitable Trust.
Madam Stanzin Saldon Shifah from Zamba Charitable Trust conducted detailed sessions on the five domains of child development—physical and motor development, cognitive development, language and communication development, socio-emotional development, and creative and aesthetic development. She provided hands-on practical activities, demonstrations, and group exercises to help the trainees understand how these domains can be effectively implemented in early childhood classrooms.
Dr. Lotos Rabgais from DIET Leh also conducted a session on the importance of rhymes in the development of the mother tongue among young children. A total of 160 trainees from different centres of ICDS Leh district participated in the training programme.
During the closing session, the Principal of DIET Leh, Mr. Mirza Mehdi, along with Madam Yangdol from DIET Leh, assured the trainees that such training programmes would continue in the coming sessions to further strengthen Early Childhood Care and Education. They also felicitated Madam Stanzin Saldon for her valuable contribution to the training programme.
