NCERT Withdraws Class 8 Social Science Textbook, Issues Unconditional Apology Over Judiciary Chapter

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has issued an unconditional apology after withdrawing a recently published Class 8 Social Science textbook titled “Exploring Society: India and Beyond (Part II).

”According to NCERT, the book contained Chapter IV titled “The Role of Judiciary in Our Society.” Following concerns raised over the content, the Director and Members of NCERT have tendered an unconditional and unqualified apology regarding the chapter.

NCERT confirmed that the entire textbook has been withdrawn and is no longer available.In its statement, the council expressed regret over the situation and acknowledged the concerns of stakeholders.

NCERT stated that it sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused and appreciates the understanding of all stakeholders.The council also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, sensitivity, and responsibility in educational content.
