On the occasion of World Water Day, the Indian Army organised an awareness session on water conservation at Thasgam, Drass, aimed at sensitising the local community and students about the importance of preserving this vital natural resource.

The session was graced by Mr. Anayat Ali Khan, Junior Engineer from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, who served as the key speaker. During his address, he highlighted the growing concerns of water scarcity and emphasised the need for sustainable water management practices at both individual and community levels.

Mr. Khan elaborated on practical measures for water conservation, including rainwater harvesting, judicious use of water in daily activities, and the importance of protecting natural water sources. He also encouraged participants to adopt responsible habits to ensure water security for future generations.

The event witnessed active participation from local residents, students, and army personnel, fostering a spirit of collective responsibility towards environmental conservation.
