The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh has expressed deep concern over the unfortunate incident of an avalanche at Zoji La.
In a message shared on X, the Hon’ble LG informed that he has immediately directed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kargil to visit the site and ensure swift mobilisation of relief and rescue operations.
All concerned government agencies, including disaster relief forces and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), have been placed on high alert to respond effectively to the situation.The Hon’ble LG further stated that he is personally monitoring the developments and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard lives and provide assistance to those affected.The Administration appeals to the public to remain calm and cooperate with authorities during the ongoing rescue efforts.
