Drass, May 26: Students and staff members of Government Degree College Drass actively participated in the Astro Week programme organized by the Tourism Department UT Ladakh at Dak Bunglow Drass.
The programme aimed at promoting astro tourism and creating awareness among youth regarding the importance of astronomy, night sky observation, and the tourism potential of the Drass region. Students enthusiastically attended various sessions and interacted with experts during the event.
The programme was also attended by DC Drass Imteaz Kacho and the Councillor Bhimbet Abdul Wahid , who appreciated the participation of students and emphasized the need to promote tourism and scientific awareness among the younger generation.
Faculty members accompanying the students highlighted that such programmes provide valuable exposure and learning opportunities outside the classroom and help students connect with emerging areas of tourism and science.
The college Adventure Travel Guide-High Altitude Skill department installed a stall depicting variou equipment of adventure treking and opportunities in the sector.
The participation of GDC Drass in the event reflects the institution’s commitment towards holistic education and student engagement in co-curricular and awareness programmes.
