Drass, June 19, 2026: Government Degree College Drass today organized the valedictory ceremony of the One-Week PM-USHA Bridge Course (2026–2027), marking the successful completion of an orientation and counselling programme designed for newly registered first-semester students.
The programme commenced with the welcome of the newly admitted students by the Co-Convener Admissions, Mr. Rizwan Ali, Assistant Professor of Physics, who briefed them about the admission process, academic regulations, college environment, and the importance of maintaining discipline and ethics throughout their academic journey.
In his address, Principal, MNM Shabani warmly welcomed the students and congratulated them on joining the institution. Drawing from his rich academic and administrative experience, he motivated the students to pursue higher education with dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm. He encouraged them to make the best use of the academic opportunities and facilities available at the college and strive for excellence in all spheres of life.
Adding a student perspective to the programme, senior student Ms. Khatija Banoo shared her enriching experiences at GDC Drass, highlighting the supportive faculty, student-friendly environment, and the academic and extracurricular opportunities provided by the institution.
Several newly registered students also shared their experiences of participating in the week-long PM-USHA Bridge Course. They appreciated the various orientation sessions and interactive activities conducted during the programme, expressing that the course helped them become familiar with the college, its faculty, infrastructure, and overall academic culture, thereby boosting their confidence as they begin their higher education journey.
In the forenoon session the students were giving tour to the Academic & Administrative Campus where they visited Science Block, Administrative Block, Lecture Block where they were amazed to see the massive infrastructure in progress.
