Kargil, June 28: District Police Kargil, in coordination with the CRPF, Security Wing, UTDRF, Fire and Emergency Services, and the Health Department, conducted a high-intensity mock drill at the Tourist Facilitation Centre (TFC) in Kargil to strengthen preparedness and response capabilities against potential security threats.
The exercise simulated a realistic terror-related scenario and tested the ability of various agencies to respond swiftly and effectively under emergency conditions. The drill included the establishment of inner and outer security cordons, evacuation of tourists and civilians, tactical intervention by specialized teams, casualty evacuation, medical assistance, firefighting operations, and area sanitization procedures.
Officials said the exercise demonstrated effective coordination among all participating agencies, highlighting strong communication, rapid decision-making, and a synchronized multi-agency response mechanism during crisis situations.
The primary objective of the mock drill was to assess operational readiness, enhance inter-agency coordination, identify areas for improvement, and ensure a prompt and coordinated response to any security challenge, particularly at locations frequented by tourists and members of the public.
District Police Kargil reiterated its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security preparedness through regular joint exercises and training programmes, while assuring residents and visitors of the district’s continued focus on safeguarding life and property.
