In Ladakh, healthcare facilities in the border town of Drass received a major boost today with the inauguration of a CT Scan Machine and an Ambulance at Sub-District Hospital Drass. The facilities were donated by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and inaugurated by Member of Parliament Shrikant Shinde.
The function was attended by Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Kargil Dr. Jaffar Akhone, Member of Parliament Haneefa Jan, Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam, senior civil and police officers, Indian Army officials, health department representatives and members of the public.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shrikant Shinde reaffirmed his commitment to supporting healthcare development in Drass and paid tribute to the soldiers of the Indian Army and the people of Drass for their sacrifices during the Kargil War. Chief Executive Councillor Dr. Jaffar Akhone thanked the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and the Member of Parliament for their contribution, saying the new facilities would strengthen diagnostic and emergency healthcare services in the region.
The installation of the CT Scan Machine and the addition of a dedicated Ambulance are expected to significantly improve trauma care, emergency response and diagnostic services for the residents of Drass and adjoining remote areas.
