Ladakh Administration Issues Notification Redefining Tehsil Boundaries
Ladakh , July 12, 2026: The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, through the Revenue Department, has issued Notification S.O. 219 dated July 12, 2026, redefining the Tehsil boundaries across the districts of Ladakh.
The notification has been issued under Section 5 of the Jammu and Kashmir Land Revenue Act, 1996 (Samvat 1996), as applicable to the Union Territory of Ladakh, and is in continuation of S.O. 180 dated April 27, 2026.
The reorganization of Tehsil boundaries is aimed at strengthening the revenue administration, improving governance at the grassroots level, and ensuring more efficient delivery of public services. The revised administrative framework is expected to enhance accessibility to government offices, streamline revenue management, and facilitate better implementation of developmental programmes across the Union Territory.
The notification specifies the revised jurisdiction and boundaries of Tehsils in the districts of Ladakh, marking another significant step towards administrative reforms and decentralized governance in the region.
