Day 2: Kargil Mourns on Martyrdom of Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei
Kargil, Ladakh β March 2, 2026: On the second consecutive day of mourning, a large and solemn procession of men and women took to the streets of Kargil to mourn the martyrdom of Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The event was organized under the banner of the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), Kargil Ladakh, and saw participation from diverse segments of the community, including locals, students, and religious scholars.
The procession commenced from various parts of the town, where mourners assembled with portraits and banners, and proceeded peacefully through the main thoroughfares.
