District-Level Sensitization Workshop on “Swachh Gaon, Surakshit Jalvayu” Campaign Held at Kargil
Kargil, June 1: Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, a district-level sensitization workshop on the “Swachh Gaon, Surakshit Jalvayu” Campaign was conducted today.
The workshop was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner Ghulam Mohd (JKAS ), Chief Planning Officer kacho Mohd Hussain, Block Development Officers,Panchayat Inspectors, Panchayat Secretaries,Panchayat Accounts Assistants , RGSA team and other concerned officials
During the workshop, District Panchayat Officer,Raziya Khatoon (JKAS) , delivered a presentation on the objectives of campaign, the roles and responsibilities of Rural Local Bodies, provisions of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, waste segregation, management of community sanitation assets, and documentation requirements during the campaign period.
The ADDC briefed participants on the importance of effective implementation of the campaign and directed the Panchayat Account Assistant to play an active role in Panchayat-level activities, including planning, monitoring, documentation, and implementation. He also emphasized timely reporting and proper documentation of campaign activities.
The Chief Planning Officer highlighted roles and responsibilities of Panchayat functionaries in solid waste management and urged all stakeholders to actively participate in making the campaign a success.
The workshop concluded with an interactive session and a commitment from all stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the campaign across the district.
