 Ladakh Ski & Snowboard Association felicitates retiring Joint Director YSS, Tahir Hussain Zubdavi

In Ladakh, the Ladakh Ski & Snowboard Association today felicitated Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, Shri Tahir Hussain Zubdavi (JKAS), on his retirement, recognising his valuable contribution to the promotion of winter sports in Ladakh.

The felicitation ceremony, held in Kargil, began with a traditional Khata ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, President of the Ski Mountaineering Association Ladakh, Ali Asgar, highlighted Shri Zubdavi’s support in strengthening skiing infrastructure and providing quality equipment for athletes.

General Secretary Mansoor Ali said that during Shri Zubdavi’s tenure, the Department of Youth Services and Sports, through DYSSO Kargil in collaboration with the Ladakh Ski & Snowboard Association, successfully organised the first-ever State Level Snow Ski Championship at Yaqza, Kargil, in 2026, with participation of more than 80 athletes from across Ladakh. Chief Organizer Sajjad Hussain also appreciated his efforts in promoting snow skiing and other winter sports in the Union Territory.

Expressing gratitude for the honour, Shri Tahir Hussain Zubdavi thanked the association for the gesture. He said that after his retirement, he would remain actively engaged in the development of society and assured that he would always be available to share his experience and expertise whenever required.

Head Coach Sadiq Ali proposed the vote of thanks and acknowledged the presence of officials from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, including Abdul Hamid, Zakir Hussain, Talib Hussain and Aga Yaseen. The programme concluded with a high tea.
