MP Ladakh Flags Off School Buses in Kargil to Boost Student Transport Facilities under MPLADS

Kargil, April 25, 2026: Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh, Haji Mohammad Hanifa Jan, today flagged off four school buses at the Council Secretariat Kargil under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

The buses have been procured to strengthen transportation facilities for various government schools and SKUAST-Kargil, ensuring improved accessibility and convenience for students. Out of the four buses, three were sanctioned during the 17th Lok Sabha tenure, while one bus has been procured under the 18th Lok Sabha period.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by Executive Councillor Aga Syed Mujtaba Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Shabbir Hussain; Councillors Feroz Khan and Mohd Amin; Chief Education Officer Sonam Wangchuk; and Dr. Fazian from SKUAST-Kashmir, Kargil, among other officials.

The initiative under MPLADS reflects a continued effort to enhance educational support systems and ensure that students, particularly in remote areas, have access to reliable transportation facilities.
