Secretary Law and Justice Reviews Litigation Management System (LMS) for Timely Monitoring of Court Cases in Ladakh
Leh, May 8: A meeting and demonstration session on the Litigation Management System (LMS) was held under the chairmanship of Secretary, Law and Justice, UT Ladakh, Qureshi Tariq Mehmood along with Senior Director, NIC Ladakh, Phunchok Paldan. The session focused on strengthening the monitoring and management of court cases involving various government departments through a centralized digital platform developed in Ladakh.
Among those present during the session were PLO Stanzin Ladol, PLO Zahid Hussain, District Litigation Officer, Kargil Khadim Hussain, Scientist B, NIC Ladakh, Stanzin Sedol, along with law officers and nodal officers from different government departments.
Addressing the gathering, Secretary Law and Justice Qureshi Tariq Mehmood stated that the primary objective of the Litigation Management System is to ensure that officers of various departments remain fully aware of cases pending and disposed before the Supreme Court and the high court so that timely action can be taken. He said that nodal officers designated by departments would be able to monitor proceedings efficiently and respond within stipulated timelines.
During the technical presentation, Stanzin Sedol, Scientist B, NIC Ladakh, gave a detailed demonstration of the application and explained its various features. The presentation covered the complete case registration process, procedures for checking total cases, monitoring pending and disposed cases, viewing cases entered on a particular day, and tracking daily proceedings.
The system also demonstrated facilities for exporting and downloading lists of pending cases, updating the latest status of cases by nodal officers, and similarly exporting records of disposed cases for departmental use and reference.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion during which officers and participants shared feedback and sought clarifications regarding the functioning and implementation of the Litigation Management System.
