Traffic Advisory for 29th March 2026 – District Police Kargil

Kargil, March 28, 2026:The District Police Kargil has issued the following detailed traffic plan/advisory for 29th March 2026, in the interest of public safety and smooth vehicular movement:

Kargil–Srinagar (SSG) Road (Zojila Axis) – GreenSubject to fair weather and road clearance from the Border Roads Organisation, LMVs fitted with anti-skid chains shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Sonamarg.🕘 Timing: 0830 hrs to 1030 hrs from TCP Minamarg.

No vehicle will be allowed after the cutoff timing due to avalanche threat.

Kargil–Zanskar (Penzila Axis) – GreenSubject to fair weather and good road condition, one-way traffic shall be allowed from Zanskar towards Kargil for vehicles with anti-skid chains.🕘 Timing: 0800 hrs to 1100 hrs from TCP Chibra.

No movement after the cutoff timing.

Kargil–Leh Road – GreenOpen for traffic, subject to favorable weather and road conditions.

Padum–Darcha (Shinkula Axis) – GreenSubject to fair weather and good road condition, LMVs with anti-skid chains shall be allowed from Kargyak towards Darcha.🕘 Timing: 0800 hrs to 1200 hrs from TCP Kargyak.

No vehicle will be allowed after the cutoff timing.

Nimoo–Padum (NPD) Road – GreenOpen only on Sunday and Wednesday.

Anti-skid chains are mandatory for all vehicles
