DISTRICT POLICE KARGIL (LADAKH) – Traffic Plan/Advisory for 26th March 2026
Kargil, March 25, 2026:District Police Kargil has issued a detailed traffic plan and advisory for 26th March 2026 for the convenience and safety of commuters across various routes in Ladakh.
1️⃣ Kargil–Srinagar (SSG) Road:Subject to fair weather conditions and road clearance, and after receiving a green signal from BRO, Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) equipped with anti-skid chains shall be allowed to move from Minamarg towards Srinagar up to 1500 hours.
2️⃣ Kargil–Zanskar (Penzila) Road (Green):Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, one-way traffic shall be allowed from Kargil towards Zanskar. Vehicles fitted with anti-skid chains will be permitted from TCP Panikhar between 0900 hours and 1200 hours only. No vehicle movement will be allowed after the stipulated time.
3️⃣ Kargil–Leh Road (Green):The road remains open for vehicular movement.
4️⃣ Padum–Darcha (Shinkula) Road (Red):The Shinkula axis shall remain closed tomorrow due to heavy snow accumulation.
5️⃣ Nimoo–Padum (NPD) Road (Green):The road remains open only on Sunday and Wednesday.
Anti-skid chains are mandatory for all vehicles.Authorities have urged all commuters to strictly follow the advisory, ensure vehicle preparedness (especially anti-skid chains), and adhere to traffic timings for safe travel.
