Dr. Iqbal Ali Khan, Advisor to The Nature People Network (NGO) and a grantee of The Habitats Trust (THT), delivered an insightful presentation in Chennai on the conservation of the freshwater Rangdum Wetlands located in the Kargil region of Ladakh.
During the presentation, Dr. Khan shared the success story of his ongoing work aimed at developing crucial baseline data for the Rangdum Wetlands, which will support long-term conservation planning and sustainable management of this ecologically important landscape. He highlighted the significance of scientific research and documentation in understanding the wetland ecosystem and its biodiversity.
Dr. Khan also emphasized the importance of community participation in conservation efforts. Through active engagement with local communities, the project promotes awareness and encourages people to play a vital role in protecting and sustainably managing the fragile wetland environment.
