ICDS Shargole launches 8th Rashtriya Poshan Pakhwada
Kargil, April 09, 2026: The ICDS Project Shargole successfully launched the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Pakhwada at AWC Andoo Colony today. The event was led by CDPO Shargole, Farida Banoo, and included Supervisor Punchok Dolma, Block Coordinator, and Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) from Andoo village.
The program saw enthusiastic participation from 18 beneficiaries, comprising children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
In her opening address, CDPO Madam Farida Banoo briefed the attendees about the Poshan Pakhwada, highlighting the various services offered by the ICDS Department.
The Block Coordinator then provided an in-depth explanation of the services and schemes available at Anganwadi Centers (AWCs), including the Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP), Village-level Health and Nutrition Days (VSNHD), Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) preschool, and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). The benefits and eligibility criteria for these schemes were also elaborated upon. In this event local foods and vegetables were displayed for spreading information about consumption of local food items in daily life.
The event concluded with CDPO Madam distributing ECCE materials to the beneficiaries, followed by refreshments for all participants.
