Two-Day Science Workshop Concludes Successfully at DIET Leh
Leh, February 27: The two-day Science Workshop for Masters and Teachers of Government
High and Middle Schools of Leh district concluded successfully today at the District Institute of
Education and Training (DIET), Leh.
The workshop was organized with the objective of strengthening subject knowledge, promoting
innovative pedagogical practices, and enhancing practical and experiential learning in Science,
with special emphasis on Physics classroom teaching. During the programme, participating
teachers actively engaged in sessions focusing on concept-based learning, hands-on experiments,
low-cost teaching aids, competency-based education, and effective classroom assessment
practices.
The sessions were conducted by the resource person, Sh. Sandeep Singh Pathania, PGT
(Physics), JNV Leh, who provided valuable insights into integrating practical approaches and
real-life applications of Physics concepts to make classroom teaching more interactive, activity-
based, and learner-centered.
During the concluding ceremony, the resource person was felicitated by Head of Department,
DIET Leh with a traditional Khataks and a token of appreciation in recognition of his valuable
contribution and dedicated efforts towards the successful conduct of the workshop.
In her concluding remarks, the Head of Department, DIET Leh, Smt. Tsering Yangdol
appreciated the active participation and enthusiasm demonstrated by the teachers throughout the workshop. She emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and encouraged teachers to adopt experiential and competency-based teaching methodologies to enhance scientific understanding and improve students’ learning outcomes.
The programme concluded with feedback from participants, who appreciated the practical and
enriching nature of the workshop.
The workshop was coordinated by DIET faculty members Ms. Chetna Sharma, Ms. Rashida
Parveen, and Ms. Tsering Angmo, whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth and successful
conduct of the programme.
The concluding ceremony ended with a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of the
two-day Science Workshop at DIET Leh.
